This policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies on the JPL OPS website and the options available to manage them.
The website uses two first-party technical cookies: one to remember the choice made in the cookie manager and another to retain the selected language. It is also prepared to use Google Analytics 4 as an optional service: the tag does not load or send events when the service is not configured or the user has not accepted the Analytics category. No advertising or marketing tools are active.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file that a website may store on a user’s device. It enables information related to browsing to be stored or retrieved and may be used for technical, personalisation, analytics or advertising purposes, depending on its nature.
2. Cookies used by this website
The jpl_cookie_consent and jpl_locale cookies are first-party cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the preferences expressly requested by the user. The _ga and _ga_<identifier> cookies can be created only when Google Analytics is configured and the user has given analytics consent. They are not used to display advertising, and we do not send Analytics any form entries, messages, CVs or filenames.
The hosting service or technical infrastructure may also use mechanisms that are essential to deliver the service, balance loads, prevent fraud or maintain security. Where they are indispensable to the operation requested by the user, they do not require consent under Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002.
3. Cookie manager and available choices
On the first visit, a notice displays the options Accept all, Reject all and Configure. Accepting and rejecting are equally straightforward, while the configuration option lets you review the available categories before saving a choice.
The Analytics category controls Google Analytics: when the service is configured, it loads only after explicit acceptance. The Marketing category currently has no associated service. Your choice is retained in the technical jpl_cookie_consent cookie for a maximum of 24 months.
You may review or withdraw your choice at any time through the permanent Cookie settings link in the footer. When Analytics is withdrawn, the application stops new events and removes the analytics cookies that it can manage from this domain. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of use prior to withdrawal.
4. Third-party links
Some pages contain links to external services, such as maps or other websites. These services are not embedded or loaded when you visit JPL OPS. If you choose to open a link, you will leave our website and the third party may use cookies under its own policy. JPL OPS does not control cookies set directly by those sites.
5. Browser settings
You can also view, allow, block or delete cookies in your browser’s privacy settings. The location of these options depends on the browser and device used. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the website from remembering the selected language or preferences, but should not prevent access to its essential content.
6. Optional services and changes
If Google Analytics has no measurement ID configured, saving an analytics preference does not load any external service. If we introduce other analytics, advertising or marketing tools in the future, or any technology subject to consent, we will update this policy before enabling them and, where required, request a fresh valid choice.
We will review this page periodically so that it reflects the cookies actually used. The current version will be the one published here with its update date.
